Staal, Spurgeon, Brodin, and Zucker traded.

Description
The future of the Wild is in the hands of players like Ek, Kaprizov, Greenway, Kunin, Menell, etc. Non of the current "big role" players will be on the team, or playing big roles when the young crop takes over. Because Parise and Suter cannot be traded (NMC), it has been my opinion for a long time that the best way to go about building a bonafide Cup contending team is to move a few mid-twenty-something players to make room for a new wave of talent...with an aim at 2-5 years for a serious Cup run. Here are some ideas...

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Andersson, Rasmus
  2. Hamonic, Travis
  3. Parsons, Tyler
Additional Details:
Calgary has a ton of talent but couldn't get it done this year. Staal and Spurgeon solidify an already impressive lineup and make the Flames instant contenders.
CGY
  1. Spurgeon, Jared
  2. Staal, Eric
Additional Details:
Idiot Wild owner Craig Leipold won't allow a complete rebuild, so Hamonic comes back in this trade to keep the team competitive. Andersson is a future top 4, right-shot d-man and Parsons would become Dubnyk's eventual replacement as the #1. I would entertain offers to flip Hamonic (+) for a top 14 pick in this summer's draft.
2.
MIN
  1. Carlo, Brandon
Additional Details:
This might be more of a wish for me - need intel from Bruin fans on value. Two very good young defenseman. I see Brodin as McAvoy's long-time D partner and one of the best all-around pairings in the league.
BOS
  1. Brodin, Jonas
Additional Details:
The Wild have a plethora of L-shot d-men and (assuming) Suter will recover 100%, Carlo would make a nice upgrade on the right side of the Wild blue line...assuming he too will recover to 100%.
3.
MIN
  1. Glass, Cody
Additional Details:
I will take Alex Tuch back if asking for Glass is too much.

Re: the Carlo/Brodin trade - Bruins haven't been too eager on trading him. He's still very young, very big, and has a ton of potential to be a shut-down defenseman in this league. Rumors were Colorado wanted Carlo and were willing to give Landeskog for him (a year or two ago), but Sweeney wouldn't pull the trigger.

I do think the Bruins have inquired about Brodin before, though - and I could see a trade happening. Just not this one.

As a Bruins fan I like the Carlo for Brodin trade, but I don't think Sweeney would do it because he is very attached to Carlo. I see Krug/Grzelcyk and other prospects and picks being Sweeney's preferred path to getting Brodin

Value-wise, you are probably pretty darn close. However, the Wild need to get younger, not older (Petry) and have too many left-handed forwards already (Galchenyuk)...so this trade doesn't really work for the Wild.

You're going to have to sweeten that offer. I will counter with: Zucker for Yamamoto, Caleb Jones, and your 2018 2nd round pick.

I have no interest in either Krug or Grzelcyk. Both would be pretty much redundant parts for what the Wild already have.

Overall I like what you did here, we're for sure worse in the short term but could be a lot better overall.

Curious to see how balanced the trade would be if we pulled Spurge and Hamonic from the first deal, feels more realistic

I haven't watched enough of Carlo to know about the 2nd one, but we know what Brodin is at this point so trading him to Boston for a package makes sense

Zucker deal is exactly what we need, but I wouldn't accept if they countered with Tuch. Unfortunately I dont think Vegas is giving away any of their young studs anyways, their success will make their top guys expensive and they will need young cheap guys to fill the roster.

Feels like if the idea is to make all of these trades, we would be focusing a little too hard on the RHD, feels like hamonic/dumba/andersson/belpedio/menell or dumba/carlo/andersson/belpedio/menell would be more than plenty, I would rather get a young forward in one more of the deals

Thanks for your comments. I realize I was being greedy with RHD here, but they are hard to come by, so I would rather have too many than not enough...and the Wild have had not enough for too long. If I actually pulled these trades off, I would probably be looking to flip Hamonic for picks or a forward prospect. With that said, Hamonic would allow Andersson, Menell, and Belpidio time to develop properly in the AHL. Let them compete with each other and keep the one who takes the reigns. The other two cold easily be moved when needed because most teams are always in the hunt for RHD.

Carlo is basically a 6-5 RHD version of Brodin. He's a smooth skater and a good decision maker. He relies on body and stick positioning more than physicality to make plays in his own end, but can play with a bit of an edge when needed. He would be a perfect player for the Wild. Bruin fans: feel free to correct or add on to my assessment here - I didn't see him much this past season, but liked him a lot from past years when I had the chance to see him play more.
