Beglund is worth one second round at most. Not two 2nds let alone a first.

Secondly. Remove Teuvo from Carolina and add Hanifin. Remove Kostin from the Blues and add Walman and Schmaltz

I dislike Berglund as much as any other blues fan but he is worth a late first as he’s a consistent 20 goal scorer and actually has a decent contract for a 3C. I’d love to have Hanifin but I am afraid some other team will overpay for him and I doubt Schmaltz and Walman could get it done as neither are highly regarded

Also Teuvo helps to actually build a real top 9. Unlike our usual top 3 and then 3 third lines

Bergie isn’t worth that. 20 goal guys are common and you are forgetting something...he is paid way too much for way too long. This is the salary cap era. To dump him, blues will have to give up decent pick/ prospect and hopefully get back a third or fourth round pick. Also, why do you think Carolina would trade two young goal scorers for an empty contract in sobie, low level prospect in Barbashev, and two mid level prospects. Odds are the guys the blues trade won’t be as good as either player from Carolina. That’s insane.

Teuvo is a good center, but hasn't proven much until this year when he played with Aho. As far as Berglund, no he's not worth a late first. Any team who pays that for him is overpaying. See Grabner or Maroon trade for comparison

Kostin and Thompson are both top level prospects though. Around the league they're regarded pretty highly. Especially Kostin.

I like kostin, but most reports I’ve seen have either player as a “top 9” forward. Not a first line or star. Again, know one knows what any prospect will do. For every Crosby, there plenty of faloons. Neither of these guys, by most reports, project to be better than skinner. So why trade if you’re Carolina? This doesn’t make them better.

If it comes down to it, I would be willing to swap Kyrou for Thompson. But that is about as much as I would give. Skinner has 1 year left and Teuvo is an RFA after this year so both salaries will likely go up. With this current roster construction, it would still be difficult to keep both while factoring in raises for Fabbri (if healthy) , Schen/Edmundson/Thomas/Dunn in two years.
