Scandella trade Soucy and Sundqvist
Blues should pass on Sunny. He was fine when he was here, but let's bring in fresh blood to the franchise.

Most aren't great. Don't get me wrong the whole team has been bad defensively but he doesn't have great numbers even from an advanced stat perspective

If he's also stopping the puck then it'd be different. But he's not so that's an issue. I dont mind the fight but unlike Hextall, Smith, and Belfour, he's not stopping pucks.

It may not be what Armstrong wants, but Blues have zero leverage. Parayko has NTC, signed to a ridiculous contract that has shades of Brent Seabrook written all over it. They'd be lucky to get a decent return

He's arguably a better prospect than Kyrou or Thomas was at the time. Freshman in college tearing it up

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Massive discord in the offseason to a group that was very close knit. Basically changed their entire franchise. Sutter system being very shot volume > shot quality, Calgary pretty much only takes perimeter shots and hopes for rebounds. Questionable lineups (Lucic should have been a permanent healthy scratch months ago for guys like Duehr, Ruzicka, etc). Lack of synergy. Like with any major change that takes time to build, last years core had all played with eachother for years. High stress and demanding coaching wears on the players mentality. Shaky goaltending, like Binnington with the Blues, Markstrom had a lot of really rough games (though his wife was pregnant with their first born until recently so that could explain his sudden improvement).
Overall I think the main thing they need is a coaching change. Sure Calgary has had a lot of coaching changes over the years but that was also an entirely different team. I don't think Sutter is a bad coach, I just think he's lost the room</div></div>
I knew losing Tkachuk and Gaudreau would hurt but that sucks they couldn't rally around Huberdeau. Sutter definitely isn't a bad coach but don't think the team is built to his style.

next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CantStopWontStop</b></div><div>I think this draft’s first round has a high chance at being weird:
Few defensemen in top 25.
Michkov and other Russians geopolitical challenges.
Handful of teams with multiple picks: STl 3, NSH 2, CHI 2-3, ARI 2, Habs 2, BlueJackets 2, VAN 2, SJS 2, Wings 2 - that’s 11 teams not picking in the first round as of now.
I think Doug uses one late first to add 2 seconds, uses his first to draft, and uses the last first to either move up slightly in combination with his first, or to acquire a roster player, or basically as his second round pick which was traded previously.
Ultimately I think he will leave the draft with a normal amount of players for a normal year plus an extra second round selection.
Given that StL is a smaller market team, they really cannot afford to tear down and build fresh - so I don’t think Doug keeps a pile of his assets locked up in the development of multiple new first round picks.
It will be interesting to see what he does, especially if he were fortunate enough to win the lottery. I’m guessing he chooses Leo Carlsson if he’s second pick.</div></div>
Last time teams didn't take Russian players Tarasenko moved into the mid first round where the Blues got him and Kucherov ended up in the 2nd round. Of something similar happens and Michov falls to 9th, Blues should take him

Blues aren't interested in trading Hofer unless an absolute stud player is involved so I'm not sure why they'd move him for Vladar

Would blues accept this
Based on what we saw with Chychrun, Blues fans need to lower expectations. Obviously Ceci would have to come back, but I'm guessing Blues would want Bouchard since they need young right handed defenseman.
How about Parayko+ Bortuzzo for Ceci+Bouchard+ two seconds?

Blues aren't retaining on an 8 year contract. That stated a lot of Blues fans overvalue him for some reason. Joki would likely have to be in the trade. However, there won't be a first and 3rd involved.
Not to mention the giant elephant which is his full NTC and I don't see him approving a move to Buffalo

Tyler and Todd are two different people. Tyler would have been 9 years old in 2004 when it happened. It was Todd. Todd did go on to play for Detroit after Vancouver so maybe that's where the confusion is, but he retired years ago

Here's the thing, you don't want to mess with team chemistry too much. If you look at the past it's never the big name guys that come in and help win the cup, it's your role players like a Hathaway and Orlov versus a big top 6 guy. Personally I think the team the Bruins have is more than sufficient

Tyler hasn't killed anyone. Todd Bertuzzi back in 2004 broke a Steve Moore's neck on the ice, but wasn't sent to jail or anything. He went to another team because Vancouver didn't want him anymore. That might be who you are thinking of.

Leafs genuinely do not have the pieces to entice the Blues to move Buchnevich that aren’t on their roster.
I don’t even think 2 1sts and Liljegren makes the Blues move Buchnevich at face value of the contract.</div></div>
That would certainly entice the Blues, but I agree it probably doesn't get it done. Buch is their best all around player right now and it's not really close.
