Flyers - A terrible roster come expansion

Created by: Whatuplilpup
Team: 2018-19 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2018
Published: May 19, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This was mainly for NHL 18. I realize taking on Perry $ would be very rough when Provy, TK etc need to get paid.

Perry can't/won't play the Ducks new system. Taking on his bad contract in exchange for MacD(1 less yr, $3m less) + Simmonds + 1st Rd for the rights to Montour.

What happens the year after when Skinner, Provrov, Konecny, Sanheim, and Laughton need to be resigned. Also Darling showed his league worst save percentage last season was no fluke. At the World Hockey Championship he was awful again. I wouldn't want a guy who spent two seasons in the SPHL on my NHL team especially not for 4 mil.

I did one for 2020 in this scenario. Came in around $81m (give or take depending on the contracts), so it's doable.

Yeah I agree on Darling, it's not ideal. But if that was the only way you could get Skinner or Teraveinen would you do it? The obvious scenario would be to just keep Lindblom on LW2 and give NAK or AHL guy a shot until Ratcliffe/Strome can make the jump. But in this scenario would you aim for Domi or another trade target to avoid the Darling contract?

Revised with Jason Zucker instead of Darling/Skinner. The wild will have a hard time signing Zucker long term this year
