Hossa does not get full cap relief. He won't sign his retirement papers until his contract is over. Therefore Chicago will just put him on the LTIR at the beginning of the next three seasons for cap relief. Otherwise if he signed his retirement papers now Chi would pay a salary cap penalty of 4.3M.

Right and the cap hit per season won't be more then $175,000....so it's basically a full relief.
