They have Kessel on a great contract, he's coming off of a 90 point season, and you want to trade him for an egotistical loser like Radulov who is ridiculously overpaid?

Why are you trading Sheary, who has some skill, for a useless overpaid grinder like Matt Martin?

Why are you bringing in the contract of Carl Soderberg??

Are you not aware of the pens cap scenario?

Kessel is coming off 90 points but its decieving. He was #1 in the league in power play points, but at 5v5 he does not create enough. If he loses a step of his speed, be becomes alot more one dimensional. This would be the best time to sell high on Phil before the decline starts. Radulov is someone who has a similar contract and would bring alot of skill and I assume chemistry with Malkin. Kessel didnt show

The point of getting rid of sheary is to get cap space but also Martin brings a steady toughness and pk for the 4th line as well as energy, he is overpaid but so is sheary and for the drop in skill, a 2nd round pick. This move moves kuhnhackl to the bench. Soderberg is tough because, to dump hunwick, you have to take something back, and with hagelin going out, it is an upgrade in skill for the top 6. The trade off is taking on the extra year instead of hags expiring contract coming off. Mike greens money for only 1 year should help resign guentzel the next year.
