Kessel and Tavares - PIT, MTL

Created by: KH44
Team: 2018-19 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2018
Published: May 26, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wanted to see if it was possible to add Kessel and Tavares. No way the Flames are on Kessel's list, but it would be interesting. Parting with a T4 defenceman, a younger winger, and two prospects seems like an odd payment for a guy like Kessel, but takes into account his age, his contract as well as his ability. The price isn't going to be as high as Pittsburgh wants, and so some combination of talented current assets and talented future assets seemed the best route. Maximizing the time left with Crosby and Malkin by getting NHLers or prospects closer to the NHL than draft picks. Tavares would be a lot of fun, and create unreal centre depth.

You really shouldn't comment if you don't know what you're talking about. I'm kind of embarrassed for you reading this drivel.

There are no cap dumps or AHLers in this proposal. That is a FAR better return than the one Toronto got when they traded Kessel to the Penguins in the first place.

Not a bad trade for Kessel, but I propose this:
Kessel and Hunwick to CGY
Brodie Jankoeski Bennet Ferland to Pitt
A decent framework... but Kessel will not be traded. I would, as his value is at its highest point now

I would rate this as a 3, but I'll put 4 to make up for the Walrus' comment.
I am also tired of seeing Kessel trades to Calgary.

What I would think to offer for Kessel (whether accepted or not):
-Brodie, A top 4 D man who had 1 bad season last year.
-one of Phillips/Fox/Dube
-one of Klimchuk/Pollock
-A 2nd Round Pick

Kessel is a good player, but he is 30, and he is not an easy player to coach.
You could pay less to get other players to fit on the first line and get 60 points.
