    Don’t think you are give Arizona enough high end talent to give up the fifth pick. Maybe instead of adding players you could use Vegas pick and a one to two second round picks.

    It's possible it's too much. But I think if both Hughes and Bouchard were available at 5 + 6, I would make that trade. if either of them were taken with the 4th I would back off that trade. It'd be tough to convince Arizona to walk away from a high talent D man. You'd have to offer a good D prospect like Cholowski + a talented NHLer + draft pick as a starter. Both players are better than Cholowski, so adding Athanasiou and the 30th/31st overall would probably do it, adding the extra 3rd rounder might be overpayment but if it sealed the deal i would still make it...most 3rd rounders become bottom six forwards or 5-6 man. The odd gem can be found but they're rare. Risk i'd be willing to take. We'd have the Best skating D-man the draft has seen in years and Best right handed D man in the draft. It'd be a solid 1-2 blueline for Detroit for 10 years.
