The more I read and the more I think about it, I want to keep Simmer. We can easily afford it even the years where we have to sign Patrick and a few others. Apparently (I didn't know this because everyone else must be awful) Simmer is extremely good on the PK. This is from early 2017 but he was healthy then so it gives you a better view of what he does.

As a Flyers fan and a Wayne Simmonds fan, i can say that Simmonds had an off year but was battling so many injuries. He also got demoted to the third line sometimes. I think this year whenever the top 9 forwards get better and he has better line mates, stays healthy and battling for a new contract extension, we will put up some pretty good numbers compared to last years (which wasn't even bad, tbh) I think Simmonds could get a 4,500,000 a year contract for 3-4 years.

As for Weal i think we could get more for the guy. Maybe not straight up just Weal, also add in Raffl or a draft pick and get a 3rd round pick. The Canucks is another team that would make an offer to get Weal, they tried to get him when he was a free agent, he is a young guy and his play style fits in their system.

    PASS...we don't need another 4th line guy.
