    If the Habs were smart, they would get their rebuild going as fast as possible while their players have max trade value.

    Between Carey Price, Shea Weber and Patches, the team can get quite the haul full of draft picks and prospects.

    After that happens, they will be in cap heaven and can take bad contracts in order to get even more draft picks.

    Examples (Jason Speeza, Andrew MacDonald, Bobby Ryan)

    Need a centre to play. Not like it's a 8 year contract.

    Well i'm no GM but i don't see how. Price is known as one of the best goalies in the game. Yes he has a huge salary cap, but the team being traded to can always just add dump cap to relieve the cap hit.
    I'm not sure how good Weber is anymore, but GM's should be noted that he plays for MTL and puts up decent numbers still
