Realistic targets maybe, but your De Haan and JvR contracts are way off on both term and $

I don't think they're too far off. 4x$6M is a little low for JVR on the UFA market, and 2x$4.5M for De Haan is overpaying a little and probably not enough term.

I would want to see the Avs get a different backup goalie - let Francouz get a ton of time in the AHL to start. I also don't know about picking up Stastny, unless you're moving one of Soderberg/Compher/Kerfoot/Kamenev.

Look at what Evander Kane just got as a UFA. The big thing here is term. UFAs at the top of a UFA class (which both JvR and De Haan are) don't settle for short or mid term deals. They take 5-7 year deals.

I agree what you're saying makes sense on the surface but I would argue Kane is three years younger than JVR, not very many teams aren't going to be handing out max term to a player like JVR who is about to hit 30 especially with the type of player he is in front of the net taking a beating, and the risk of his body breaking down early. I'd be fine going up to 7.5 to keep the deal short.

Also I wouldn't put De Haan anywhere near the top of the FA class, with John Carlson he's probably teams Plan B on par with Mike Green. Also with him only playing one full season coming off a surgery, I think he's a good candidate for a short term prove it deal. He bets on himself setting up for a bigger deal down the road.
