Description

Here is the reasoning behind every deal.
Dallas needs a top 6 winger and with zucc only costing 2.25m he wont impact their salary cap at all and allow dallas to sign someone like grabner or maybe vanek to add to their 3rd line with spezza's 7.5m off the books. But NYR get compensated with a 3rd for taking that contract.
For Montreal they have been eyeing the Finish center Jesperi Kotkaniemi so for dropping 6 spots they receive a versatile top 6 in and namestikov and a 3rd.
Now for edmonton NYR bails out lucic's horrible contract by getting the 10th overall pick with a 3rd and the top 6 to maybe a first line potential in puljarvi and they get a 1st liner in krieder and a versatile at least 3rd liner at worst but can play 2nd line well in spooner.

Didnt sign back the rfas and free agents this is just a draft day deals.

This is really well done. Trades seem very fair to me. Pipeline would be bursting with talent. Id love to see what type of roster that this would yield next season (yes I know not a good one) and also what a mock with these picks would look like

the Edmonton trade is a little sketchy, that's a lot you're getting back. You also only have 3 forward lines and no backup goalie.

lucic has one of the worst contracts and krieder is a top line player so his value is about the 10th overall maybe a little less and spooner is a solid top 9 at worst and plays a solid 2nd line that can play all 3 positions, Puljarvi atm looks like a bust but it is 2 early to say for sure and edmonton needs to produce with their history getting krieder and spooner will bolster that weak offence you guys had last year and bring more than just mcdavid and drasatl scoring everything. While you lose lucic's horrible contract but that will cost some because he has 5 years at 6 million which All teams will not take on that contract without getting assets in return and with nyr rebuilding they will be fine salary wise for at least next 2-3 years.
