I love TVR and take that in a heartbeat. Okposo brings much more to the team than Ladd does. I wouldn’t touch that swap with a 5-foot pole. I like the basis of the Montreal trade but i think I’d expect a little more for Scandella and the top2nd rounder. 2 2nds is nice but we also only get a rental top-9 winger and a 7th defenseman

Ladd improved last year and saves them a little cap hit. But even over the 2 year the Sabres make out better. Ladd gets shots to the net, Sabres need that
Sabres probably resign Byron, Byron and a 2nd is more than i'd expect for Scandella, Benn will provide veteran depth, that they will more than likely run into. If you really trust Botts drafting ability, it shouldnt bother us. Sabres use a 2nd to bring in another great character and I think that makes a dangerous 3rd line.

I guess Ladd improved much more than I realized. Still Okposo can have some of that attributed to his horrid start coming off the concussion and Health scare. I don’t want to give up on him just yet. You really devalue Scandella a bit. Even if he’s re-signed, is a 3W and a 2nd worth a top-4 defender who finally got Ristolainen headed in the right direction at least analytics wise? I just think he is worth more to the team. I hope his drafting will prove well, it’s still a hair too early to really tell. Mitts is at least a positive sign

a 3LW that fits Botts system to a T and I think Ristolainen should get the credit for his improvements more than his d partner or team mates, especially when they were a terrible team this year. With Dahlen its between Guhle and Scandella. When Scandella was brought in, Dahlin was an after though to Botterill. LHD are also a dime a dozen in this league. So with no market, you're not going to get blown away by a deal for him, but they get pieces they need for surplus.

I’m not saying it was all Scandella, but Risto has struggled with all other partners and finally Scandella on his pairing he increases analytics and Scandella also gets his best of his career? I think you need to add that with Dahlin, it’s between Guhle, Scandella, and McCabe. And I personally don’t see Guhle moved unless they are blown away by a offer so it’s Scandella and McCabe. Both had strong showings this year but one consistently stayed healthy and played admirably with their top defender. They may hold onto McCabe due to age but I think If a guy shakes on that left side they may go McCabe. But what do I know lol

McCabe had better analytics and Dmen will get hurt, so im not going to hold it against him. He played through it, despite the team falling apart, which is all I needed to see. Scandella, whos supposed to be a offensive dman, had worse 5v5 offensive stats than McCabe whos a defensive dman, playing with a hurt shoulder.

First 3 trades are not bad.

Rather keep Okposo than get Ladd, devil we know....

I don’t see a point in trading Scandella and moving down in round 2 to acquire another really late 2nd and Byron. I like Byron but not enough to do that trade.

I’d stay away from JVR, he already slowing down skating wise and that will only worsen over time.

No Cam Ward, he’s way to inconsistent to be a solid backup

Without Scandella our defense makes me pale in fear for the defensive zone play.
