Start out Mittelstadt at LW. Can move him to center, allowing a call-up at LW after injuries (Nylander, Smith, Olofsson). Let Pilut and Guhle continue to develop in the AHL and be used as call-up injury options

I don't think they buy out Pommer and 3mil is a lot for a back up goalie. I think Mike Green is the opposite of what the Sabres need as well. And Casey doesn't play the wing unless he fails as a center like Sam did.

I don’t see Carolina accepting that trade, and Mittelstadt should start off at center, Botts wants depth down the middle and it’s better he develops as a center now in a role with less pressure

There Rochester extends the defenders one by one, I think one of the Guhle or the Pilut will be in Buffalo at the beginning of the season, and maybe booth.
