Description
Idk if this is even close to what it would take or if the value is there and Doughty would come with an extension. Also need to add two more skaters to the roster but idk who makes it out of training camp or who could get signed cheap as extra skaters. Thoughts?

For just Doughty alone an elite all world defenseman and if he signed an extension you would be starting the conversation with Pasternak. For Doughty and Muzzin, our top 2 defenseman with Stanley cup pedigree in their prime then you’d probably be offering up guys you also wouldn’t want to give up. There’s no way in hell this happens

In my perfect world it does or in nhl18 with an extra first rounder from 2022 and 2023

Honestly think Boston passes on this one as well...I/E it would never happen. If Doughty walks, you're back at square one on the right side....Miller/McQuaid as top 4 options, no bueno.

What if Doughty said he wasn’t resigning in LA but would sign one in Boston, the way i look at it is LA gets a young top 4 in carlo, a great offensive minded dman, a solid young two way forward a b level prospect with upside and a 1st for a top dman and a top 4 dman. I feel like it’s not a horrible offer but maybe I’m just being bias

If Doughty is signing an extension in Boston, it's definitely more appealing. However, what is Doughty going to command? a 9-10M+ deal? Still need to re-sign McAvoy and such...Haven't looked into the cap hits going forward. Things could get tight though.

They’d have 27-30ish depending on what the cap does to resign Doughty/Mcavoy/jfk/Donato
