Trading G is a terrible idea.
Taking on Weber's contract is ABYSMAL. (dude is signed til he's 40. FORRRRTTYYY.)

You don't sign Stastny for longer than 2 years.
Hex has ZERO interest Kovalchuk.
DirtyDangles and Zubrowka liked this.

the only reason i like this trade, is that PHI gets the 3rd overall which might make it go through, but i agree that Webers contract is unmovable

Don't get me wrong I love G but Weber is only two years older and RHD is something Hexy wants, not to mention what he would be a great mentor to our young D coming up and perfect to pair with Provy or Ghost.... the number 3 pick gives you shot at future 1st line scoring wing Zadina or Svechnikov ... meanwhile Kovy is a stop gap to let them develop and Stasny is fine at 3 years as Frost or future 3C is on entry level deal. Montreal gets two French Canadian players and G fills their immediate need for a center and Morin and our pick give them to future Dmen.
