Shaw won't be available for a long time and will be coming off of surgery, and Byron was claimed off of waivers at one point, and the Flyers are supposed to take that in exchange for pick 19 in a decent draft? I really don't think so...

Not gonna argue with you on the trade I cant see Philly wanting that, but Byron has had two 20 goal seasons since he's been claimed off of waivers. He is worth a 2nd round pick at least, maybe even more.

I like Byron, but those 20 goals are more because of the lack of depth the habs have had.
On a cup contender he's probably a 3rd or 4th line pk guy.
He can definitely help out higher in the lineup when injuries hit has a great cap hit, but also expiring contract.
Hextall has built the flyers through the draft.
Since he became the GM in 2014 he hasn't traded a pick for a player, but has traded a bunch of players to get players + picks in return.

Are you saying Byron isn't worth a 2nd round pick at least?

Mid to late second round or third and a prospect. Only an opinion though. I'm not an expert.
Hextall hasn't made that type of trade in 4 years though.
