I honestly believed this up until the Kessel deal. That's a harsh overpay, Barby just doesn't have enough upside to make that deal work. Also, this would just decimate their depth. Who do the blues call up when 1 or 2 or more wingers get hurt?

Bit of a lowball for Tavares, I think $11.5 million is the most likely number he'll sign for if he leaves the Islanders. Might sign for $12 million in NY, may sign for $11 million somewhere else at the lowest. I get the want to trade Parayko and I don't necessarily disagree with it, but our defense on that side takes a huge hit if he leaves, and we don't have anyone I would trust to replace him waiting. Not sure why people keep trying to trade Steen, I've seen numerous trades with him involved the last few days but he has a full NTC and has several times indicated he has no desire to leave. He's on the decline but I think he'd fit nicely on a Thomas-centered third line.
