Nothing against this buts it frustrating that rangers fans just can’t seem to accept the fact we’re rebuilding. If gorton wanted to make a push instead of selling everything in February he would have

Both players gained are younger than the roster players being that are traded away and are both under contract through the time period when the Rangers are expected to be competitive again (20-21 season). Both are proven defensemen and are a much more reliable impact player than anyone that could be drafted with the picks given up.
While Zucc is great, he won't be around long enough to see the rebuild through. Namestnikov and Hayes are both solid players, but are blocking the path down center for young guys like Chytil and Andersson.
I would argue that these moves help the future more than hurt, especially if Zadina and Chytil can utilize the chemistry they've shown off in international play.

I realize I didn't address JVR. He grew up a Rangers fan and I just think it'd be great to see him wearing the blue sweater. He's a class act and I can see him being able to teach the young guys a lot. Doesn't cost anything to get him besides cap space, and we've got a surplus of that.

I like this team. It looks like it would be a playoff team this coming season at worst. Wonder if we can reduce the Montreal trade by tossing in ADA and making the 1st our 2019 2nd and 2018 3rd.
