I think you're spot on with the Hanifin math.

Would love to see Lindholm extend at that price, could bump over $4M if the cap does go to ~$80M this summer.

We'll see how the net shapes up for CGY. Bernier, Hutton, Ward would all be good backup options. And CGY will likely have $2-$3.5M tied up on a short-term deal for one of those guys.

Expect Lindholm to cost closer to 5M.

What comparables are you using? I haven't tried to put together a good grouping yet. He's been right at or slightly above 40 points in his 4 full seasons in CAR. 0.528 points per game over that span.

Off the top of my head, I think $5M is the upper limit for that resume so far, even at a 7-8 year extension. Could see both sides working around the $4M mark on a 5-year deal. But, I have to put a list of comparable players together to understand what makes sense.

One comparable is Michael Frolik. Both are real good defensively with the ability to score 40+ points. At the time Frolik signed his deal it was considered a little bit of an overpay. $4.1M is just a ballpark number but I wouldn't be surprised if Treliving signs him for something close to that number.

I used CapFriendly and pulled this together (plus Matt Cane's AAV predictions):
