Perry has a NMC and I don't think he would leave California for Mtl. I do think there could be something worked out with Ducks for Patches though especially with the Kings and possibly the Sharks getting new talent

Agreed. Also if Perry leaves, he wants another cup shot. Perry does not put the Canadiens over the top to merit taking on an 8mil/year contract for 3 more seasons. Habs would be better off to retain Patches and sign him to an extension (all other non-money things aside).

Idea would be to take Perry from the ducks and flip him somewhere else and retain some salary and possibly get another 1st round pick or prospect. Pacioretty wants 8x8 and no way Montreal does that if they're rebuilding.
