Quoting: gk1991
I figured on a trade of Skinner and a 2nd round pick. More then what Washington got for Gruebuer. Not sure if Preds can match, Might not have cap room.
Sorry I am a little confused. Saros is a RFA
Here is the compensation breakdown for an RFA:
$1,339,575 or less No compensation
$1,339,576 to $2,029,659 Third-round pick
$2,029,660 to $4,059,322 Second-round pick
$4,059,323 to $6,088,980 First and third-round picks
$6,088,981 to $8,118,641 First, second and third-round picks
$8,118,642 to $10,148,302 Two firsts, a second and third-round picks
Over $10,148,302 Four first-round picks
Nashville has plenty of money this year. 12m and no real needs/players to sign that will demand a lot.
Problem with them is next year when Ellis & Fiala come up. However Rinne will be 37 and they probably would rather go with Saros
To sign Saros as an RFA - Nashville would match anything below $4,059,323 If you went over It would cost your 1st and 3rd rd 2019 picks. You could try to work out a trade for his rights, but it would have to be eqaul to a 1st and 3rd pick, or they prefer you make the offer sheet, and you have theoretically already traded your 20191st rd pick to Carolina.
