Pacioretty is looking for a hefty raise in his new contract. Not sure Flames are going to commit to a 7 year 7-8 million contract assuming that their internal cap is real.

Interesting trade. I like it but I wonder about what MTL fans think of it.

Lines are good, Pacioretty fills out that top 6 really nicely.

Personally, I'd like to see the spots held by Ryan, Reaves, and Rieder go to our younger players (we have some great young players that are about ready to step up).

Interesting. I know Pacioretty is much better than Bennett at this stage, but I am hesitant to give up on Bennett just yet. Not sure what MTL's take on this would be either. Personally, I'd rather target the MIN 3 or Stone in OTT to see if we can pry them loose. Pacioretty is going to want more $$ than I think the flames should spend on that type of player. Not an unrealistic line-up though.

I don't think we need a player (pacioretty) that wants an 8 million dollar contract over an up and coming ddecent player
