Rumor: Jets Resigning Stastny (Retry)

Description
Rumor is that Stastny and the Jets have almost reached an agreement. This rumor has been proven by this mornings mason deal. If Stastny is really coming back, this is what the deal would look like.

The Chiarot trade was inevitable once Morrow was signed

To keep Stastny, the Jets have to move Perreault and Kulikov. Perreault is moved to PHI (who need a 3rd line center) for a 2nd and 3rd. Kulikov is moved to Detroit (who need defensive defencemen) with a 2nd and 4th for a 7th.

I really do think that Appleton should make the jets but the roster is full.

I like your ideas here.

I do think that it would be ideal if the Jets could dump both Kulikov (Myers?) and Perreault. Just not sure that Chevy is going to be able to find a taker for Kulikov. Finding a fit for Perreault would be much easier in my opinion.

Not sure that trading Chiarot is necessary because of the Morrow signing. I like Niku and think he deserves a shot out of camp but he may need another year with the Moose; in which case we would need Chiarot and Morrow as our 6/7 defence man.

I think Vaselainen and Appleton both have a real shot at making the team along with Roslovic. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top after the preseason!

Niku is better off playing sheltered minutes in the NHL than going back to the AHL
Roslovic has already made the team and Vesalainen will because of his shot but if he doesn't, the jets can sign a LW for a year or give that spot to Petan. I do not think Appleton will for now but we might see him like we saw Roslovic this year.
