This is a cap dump. Could be Toronto or another non-competitive team. They also get lower middle prospect or pick (Siemens, 4th rounder etc) from Avs in exchange for taking on salary

The Bruins add some much needed and affordable defensive depth with Seidenberg and Chara fading into their twilight years. Like in Colorado, Holden would be overextended in prolonged time in a top 4 role, but can spot fill there, improve depth, and kill penalties with Boston to help alleviate the burden on veteran D.

In return Boston gives up a disgruntled forward prospect who wants out of their system and who the coaching staff appears to have soured on.

This one is the toughest for me to assess value. Personally I think I'm off here in favor of the Avs because this deal feels too easy to do. I think the two are logical trading partners for a piece like Pickard and this trade could go one of a few ways:

A) the Avs add a pick or prospect in order to pry away a young D like Pesce. He seems the most expendable of CARs young D, though I'm sure the Avs would love to bring Jaccob Slavin back to Colorado. To do that they'd have to go hogwild adding to Pickard, maybe Pickard + 1st rounder.

B) We could shrink the deal down and use Pickard to build future assets. Acquire the LA Kings 1st rounder from the Canes, + a later pick/prospect depending on how late the Kings pick winds up by draft day.
