Description
Assuming the Habs want to blow it up, Edmonton takes on Price's contract (retained) for Talbot and Lucic (who's deals end far sooner), and a good prospect and pick to give positive assets to Montreal. With the small cap gains Edmonton makes, they flip Kassian to create enough room to fill out the forwards. Duclair makes a lot of sense short term and Maroon returns to the lineup. Defence stays the same but should be much improved by virtue of having a healthy Klefbom and Sekera.

That's the best you'll get. Can't imagine anyone would give good assets for that contract. Jones is a top 7 prospect in Edmonton and a 2nd round pick is quite good considering Price's contract. When I made this I expected Oilers fans to be the ones who I had to convince.

no thank you,, you could not get rid of lucic for free would have to include a 1st rd pick just for that guy alone

You bring up Price's contract (which is being partially retained) yet neglect to talk about the huge pile of dog crap that is Lucic's contract. The only decent thing going to MTL here is Talbot and the 2nd but MTL is giving up arguably the best goalie in the world and a decent 3rd liner.
