Description

TBL needs to dump salary in order to keep EK long term and OTT will need to hit the cap floor once they trade EK. They will also need a somewhat serviceable blue line to Murphy can help them on that front.

I read Justin Lowe's article as well. I can see why OTT would do this trade. Melnyk saves $6.75M on Zach Smith and can gain some stability on the back end while Chabot and most likely Cal Foote take time to develop more. I would tend to think TBL will trade Callahan first, but maybe other teams are asking too much? While trading Stralman positionally works out pretty nicely, he's still a nice Dman that I don't think they want to trade him away for this little. It would be TBL's plan C or plan D in my opinion.
