I mean if Wheeler wants to switch his career to C, this could work. I still like the Connor-Scheifele-Wheels line, tho. Kinda disappointing they lost Stastny

Wheels filled in admirably when Scheifele was injured. Jets are stacked with great young wingers and as Stastny didn't work out, picking up the best RW free agent option and sliding Wheeler over may be an option. The Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler line was excellent but Laine needs to prove this season that he deserves the $10M payday everyone seems to already assume. Give him top line minutes and matchups and see what the kid's ceiling looks like. When Scheifele was injured, Connor and Wheeler continues to produce. Having Nash as RW on the line shouldn't slow them down.

As a leaf fan I really hope the Gms see the Gardiner/Myers swap like most fans do. I love Gardiner but for next season the leafs have way more need on RD and both teams are likely losing them both UFA next summer anyways. I think they fit well. Leafs would have to eat a bit of cash though because Myers I believe is only making 3 mil vs 3.65 or something for Gardiner

Why wouldn't you have Roslovic or Petan as your 2C? Thoughts?
Lines would look like:

Connor - Scheifele - Wheeler
Ehlers - Roslovic - Laine
Vesalainen - Petan - Nash
Perreault - Lowry - Little

I know not ideal for 4LW to be making $4M & the 4RW to be making $5M but that would be a pretty balanced lineup with speed and scoring on all 4 lines.

I do believe that by the end of the season, Roslovic will likely be the Jets' #2 centre. There isn't a bad way to split up those 12 players. I did like Wheeler as a centre.

While I agree that I also like Wheeler as a centre Winnipeg has some really good young natural centre's that need to be given that opportunity. Wheeler and Little are both good back up plans in the case one of the centre's go down to injury. But you're right there is no bad way to split up the forwards.
