Why include staal
Leafs won't spend 3M+ on 4th centre
For less than 10 min a game maybe some pk , 4th line will be 1M players

I think that a trade centered around Spurgeon for Gardiner plus could work, but doubt that Staal would be included. Toronto doesn't need him, and he's on a great deal for Minny.

That return is not enough for Spurgeon alone. Never mind also throwing Staal into the mix.
