18-19 ...how they break camp (rebuild so far)

Description
Year 1 of the rebuild.
First line is kind of obvious, let the KZB line try to build off of their chemistry now that AV isn't here to constantly shuffle the lines.

Chytil gets to concentrate on offense and putting the puck in the net. Hayes and Zucc take a huge amount of pressure off of him. If he looks good, start giving him looks at C as the season progresses. If all goes amazingly well, you can explore moving Hayes at the deadline.

Meskanen impresses with his two way game and wins the 3RW spot. Andersson's natural two way game earns him 3C and gets two responsible wings to help him along. This line should be capable of dominating lesser team's 3rd lines.

Spooner plays the 4C and gets incentive from the coaches by being given time on the PK and PP. With Vesey and Fast, this should be an extremely effective 4th line with offensive upside, not a lot of 4th lines around the league like this.

Skjei and Shatt are the obvious top pair.
Smith moves to his natural side and has a nice bounce back camp. Pionk gets his shot as 2RHD.
Staal is still here unfortunately, and DeAngelo gets his shot to make a statement (he also benefits from the lack of RHD on the roster).

Hajek, Day, Lindgren, Howden, Ronning & Gettinger all have nice showings and make the fans start dreaming of the future. However, without a reason to rush them along, they are given the chance to marinate in Hartford with a stacked lineup. They gain confidence through success, and the Rangers keep them under control for another year. They get their 9 game call up after the deadline to fill holes in the lineup.

Georgie has a to the death battle with Mazanec for the backup G spot. He wins in a tie (and also because he is an attractive trade chip) and breaks camp as Hanks/Bennies understudy.

I like it, but you need someone way more defensively responsible to play 4c. Spooner is all O. And small. Just don’t think he fits on this team and needs to get traded. He’s third line winger material for some other team, because the players you projected in that slot are better than he is. Miskanen is cheaper, plays rw, and has a higher ceiling.

I can't disagree with this, but for me these were the best combinations I could come up with, Spooner playing the 4C felt like the lesser evil. I don't hate the idea of him being given the chance to break his stereotype (and increase his trade value lol). if he proves to be not responsible enough for the checking lines duties, I think that moves Names to the 4C.
