Your post is incomplete...what happens when you need to sign both Panarin and Karlsson? You need to clear out about 4 million in cap space.

Just from an outsiders perspective, I'd say your trading for the wrong Senator. Mark Stone or Matt Duchene would fit the teams needs better than Karlsson, either of them would cost less too!

Your poor 2019 draft, by the time you move Foligno w/picks to save cap space, you may as well stay home!

The Karlsson/Panarin raises would be a total of 8 mil. So, if the cap doesn't go up, he needs to come up with about 5.1 mil. Buying out Dubinsky is 3.9, so they can move Savard for a cheaper d-man and be fine.
