Flames 2019-20 (Same Cap)

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
A ton of opportunity to open up spots for the young guys coming up, the Frolik buyout isn't necessary but it opens a roster spot for Mangiapane, could also be done through trade, still tough to find a place to put Dube if he comes in strong at camp.

I also see an opportunity to move Hamonic in the last year of his deal to open a spot for Kylington to play with Valimaki.

A ton of potential going forward, can't wait!

Seems like a lot of thought put into this which I applaud but you lose all credibility when you trade yet another first for a 38 year old goalie?????? Please recall we already have one of those and he's better than Anderson.

His contract will be up and hopefully Anderson wouldn't see a lot of time with Gilles on the track to the NHL, this is simply a safety net in the case that Gilles isn't ready. I know what you mean though, I would much rather have a second in that trade but as I mentioned it would be a high price tag if he is playing well at the deadline, also the Brouwer contract is gone in that trade. I completely agree with what you are saying though.

I get what you're saying and don't mind the idea at all. There's just no way a goalie on an expiring contract at the end of his career is worth a first is all I'm saying. Age and contract status factor into value just as much as on ice play. Look what the Kings paid to acquire Bishop last year, Bishop in his prime and didn't even draw a first in return from the Kings. I think you can get Anderson for next to nothing next deadline and Ottawa certainly won't want a year of Brouwer @ $4.5 in return IMO.

That's a really good comparison that I never thought of at all, you're right then and my trade above is miles off I think. Good point!
