Trades
STL
  1. Holtby, Braden
Additional Details:
Holtby extended for 7x5 deal.
WSH
  1. Allen, Jake
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Samsonov would be legend. He would be no2 goalie in 18/19 and this deal would mean he would slowly get into starter teritorry but in 19/20 he would share the workload with Allen who might be good and in 20/21 Samsonov would become legit starter. This trade would secure that Caps would get something legit in return for Holtby who mightve otherwise leave in FA.

I dont know about the price tho if 2nd to Allen is right so tell me.

Deal makes no sense for caps, would have to be a first round pick

It would be dependant on the goalie market at the time. A lot of teams on the playoff cusp need a goalie(Isles, Canes) A first is plausible plus Allen in that case. If not, then they don’t exactly have the upper hand in negotiations given they may potentially lose him for nothing.

That deal makes a lot of sense actually. Getting experienced goalie instead of one who may leave in FA.. but Allen and 1st would be a good price to pay tbh.
