Description
Okay, this post was made just for fun. I'm not a Preds fan and know little about thier team, only that they have the cap space to do this.

The trades take place at the deadline, roughly 2/3rds through the season - meaning that Ottawa has soaked up 2/3rds of these players cap hits for 2017-18. The cap hit is calculated daily, so the remaining cap hit for these players is as follows:

Stone: $2.43M
Duchene: $2.00M
Karlsson: $2.17M
Nurse: $1.07M
Total: $7.67M

Subban: $3.00M
Bonino: $1.37M
Hamhuis: $0.42M
Total: $4.79M

Right now the Preds have $7.625M in cap space currently less $1.462 in potentail bonuses, or (at the least) $6.163M available. These transactions add just $2.88M to the cap, so they'll still have over $3M in space.

small issue. A team can only retain up to 50%. So this is a non starter on the premise.
