Something a little different - trade with VGK

Description

So basically this trade will never happen, but hey, what's the site for if not some good old fun?

I have a bit of a soft spot for Tatar who, let's be honest, unperformed in the desert. I think that VGK might be willing to move on from him and try and cut their losses.

Bischoff is probably VGK's second or third best D prospect so while valuable . . . well, it's not like I'm asking the Hawks to give up Beaudin again, right?

In return the Knights get Patches who might well extend there - saves them cap space either way - which is going to be valuable as Vegas is likely going to be a major UFA hunting presence in the next few years.

Anyway, let me know. I haven't seen many MTL - VGK trades so it'd be interesting to find out if I am out to lunch.

This favors VGK quite much. Considering that they paid 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Tatar, and now trades him and an unknown prospect for Pacioretty, who's arguably much better than him, a 2nd and a 4th.

I had VGK sending a 2nd to Montreal as well, but then deleted it. Not sure how much Tatar's value has decreased and how to measure than post Skinner. Certainly VGK have the picks to spare.

Plus variety is the spice of life. I think this site has had more Patches to CHI/PITS/LAK posts this summer than I've had hot meals.

This return or "payment" to send away Pacioretty is awful. You actually are SENDING good picks with Pacioretty in order to get that little return?!? It's not serious. Look at what Kevin Shattenkirk/Martin Hanzal/Rick Nash/Derrick Brassard/Evander Kane/Paul Statsny were traded for in the last 2 TDL to estimate Pacioretty potential return. 1st round pick + great prospect + something like '20 2nd or 3rd round pick (bare minimum).
