I wouldn't say that Larsson is worth nothing. He was playing with a rough defense core last year who were going through injuries and was still a +10. He doesn't score but he's great defensively.

Best player in the world at the age of 21 locked up for 8 years. Another top 20 center at the age of 23 locked up for 7 years. Solid prospects looking to make the jump (Pulju/Yamo/Bouchard). Swedish d partners to play with. Young team that showed a lot of promise in 16-17 (1 year ago). Why wouldnt he sign here? Please elaborate.

Larsson worth virtually nothing? Are you insane? Young top 4 RHD, signed on good contract with term. Doesnt score much but is great defensively and does all the heavy lifting with the tough matchups and pk time.

First, mcdavid isn't the best player in the world.
As for why he wouldn't sign in Edmonton?
Shortest days in the NHL. Crappy taxes. Non playoff team. Tough cap situation. Edmonton. Many better options. It's Edmonton.

Ask yourself, has a superstar that can pick where he plays ever picked Edmonton?

Has anyone ever really picked Edmonton without getting overpaid?
