The best asset is going to WPG how is that an underpay? They also get rid of Littles contract in the process.

Also the most expensive, and that doesnt excuse the morrissey contract

It's a pretty fair deal. Roughly around the same amount Bob McKenzie is projecting.

Retain 50% on Toews and take out Morrisey and that's 100% fair

Part of the reason for the trade is to shed dollars for Chicago why would they retain? It puts them in a good spot to attract free agents next season such as Panarin again or Simmonds, Eberle, Pacioretty, etc

Niku & Stanley will likely show up this season. Having Toews would help Ehlers & Laine immensely.

Stanley staying in the ahl for a year or 2 for sure
And niku isn't proven
And at the same time enstrom left, leaving a spot open behind Morrissey in the top 4 ( hopefully niku fills that)
If that trade were to go through the jets would have lost their top 2 left d men ... not something a win now team wants

Lmao if you make Chicago retain 50% (5.25 mil), it's a reason to give them Morrissey.

Their right-side makes up for their left in this case and it's still a serviceable blueline

Morrow - Byfuglien
Kulikov - Trouba
Gustafsson - Myers

Trouba wants to leave and it's still questionable extending Myers... both have one year left

Then trade with a team that has cap space
