B's Opening Night Roster

Created by: DirtyRebound
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 12, 2018
Published: Sep. 12, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There's going to be a battle at both forward positions 1/2 RW and 3C as everyone already knows. If Stempniak shows up in camp and looks strong and healthy like he was 2 years ago, the B's should give him the job on a harmless 1yr 1 mil contract. giving them options and comfortability of having that rookie 3C with multiple defensively responsible players already in the lineup. They also have the option of throwing Backes at center and keeping Heinen and Donato on that line. This would allow the guys vying for the center position a bit more time to develop even if thats an extra half season in Providence.

stempniak (who isn't even signed by the way, he's on a PTO) on the first line? Bjork off the roster? A washed up backes playing a position he doesn't seem able to play anymore? Krug and Miller (the rightful third pairing) as the top pair?

Might as well play Bergeron at D and start Halak over Rask.

Looks like you didn't read the description. I said to see how Stempniak is, never said he's already signed. Also said to let the young guys develop and see how they do in Prov and call them up during the year. Backes can handle a few games at center until they find a fit. Bjork can start in Prov while he's still coming back from surgery. Could see him called up after 10 games like Heinen did last year.

Just because the player doesn't make the team out of camp, doesn't mean they won't solidify a spot on the team during the season.
