Love or hate their price tags, but Orpik and Niskanen were a big part of the Caps' championship. Appreciate your optimism on Bowey, and I agree long term he's a top four defenseman in the NHL, but he didn't dress for a game in the 2018 playoffs. Orpik was 1, 2, 2 in the playoffs in plus/minus, shot blocks, hits. Added five points. Niskanen was tops in blocks, and paired with Orlov against the best forwards in the league. Orpik and Niskanen together played 5 on 3s and killed off the last couple minutes of the season, when Vegas pulled Fleury. Yes, Orpik's GWG in the SCF was his only goal of the season. So was his game seven OTGWG to eliminate the Isles when he was a Penguin. He just doesn't shoot much if it doesn't matter.
