How to destroy the Bruins with one post.

Bolts still better and the team is screwed next year and beyond.

Stone is a huge difference maker, Faulk is a quality RHD that would put up insane offensive numbers paired with Krug, and Hayes would be great as the 3c

This post isn’t meant to be good for the future, it’s just about winning the cup this year. A series with this team and the Bolts would definitely be close, but I think this team would come out on top.

You don’t dismantle and decimate a team for 1 year because the playoffs is a crapshoot. Hockey is not like basketball or football where you the best team usually wins. Bad breaks, bad bounce, bad penalties, blown call, hot goalie, flukey goal, injury, just plain dumb luck....any of these things can win or lose a series. It’s why you don’t see teams trade 15 assets for 2 expiring contracts and 2 year contract. It’s short sighted and downright word i’m not supposed to use here.

As to the trades themdelves. The Faulk trade is another one of those words. Huge overpay, even with them taking Backes.

That does not get you Stone.

Probably should’ve mentioned in the description how it wasn’t meant as something the Bruins should actually do, because of course they shouldn’t. It’s simply a fun way to put together a cup contender. You can’t complain something is unrealistic if it isn’t meant to be realistic in the first place.

And all of the trades are at least close to fair value. Heinen is very good and young and the additional pieces help.
The Faulk trade isn’t an overpay, he’s an underrated right handed defenseman.

Backes is old, unneeded with this team and has a bad contract. A 2020 4th is very small. I’m not all that impressed with Zboril personally. I guess if someone is still high in Zboril it can be seen as a big overpay, but as someone who isn’t I think it’s fine. Studnicka is good and the 2nd is a quality pick, but those two are the only big assets given up by the Bruins there (again, unless you’re high on Zboril)

Not high on Zboril.

They have been shopping him since last year. Asking price was first and prospect and they have not gotten it. 3 prospects, 2 of them centers, and a 2 pics. Overpay. Even for taking Backes contract.
