    Not sure signing Backes fits in with this team's strategy right now: building through the draft, bringing up young talent, adding bits and pieces through FA. Adding a 30+ year old center at the tail end of his career doesn't make sense in my opinion. Also - that proposed deal with Edmonton is a mess. There's no way I'm trading Provorov. Going to be top 10 defenseman in this league for a long time to come.
