Description

This helps keep the team competitive until Pettersson, Edler, Baertschi, and Beagle get back. The cap dump virtually dissolves after the Del Zotto retention, Bolland, and Dorsett contracts are up next year. Backes's contract is gone so Boston has space to pursue good secondary scoring, and Arizona gets a low end prospect with NHL experience and a third round pick while giving up very little. I'm not sure, however, if I was underpaying for Heinen/Backes.
