I just can't see Panarin being that cheap. He was over a point per game last year, on a team where nobody else was even remotely close (Seth Jones actually had the next highest at 57 points, their 2nd highest scoring forward had 48 points). He can drive a line, make plays, and score. And most importantly he's only 24, incredibly young for a big name UFA. He's a top 5 left winger in the league. If John Tavares actually took less than what other teams were offering so he could play in Toronto, what is Panarin going to make? I just think the fact that he's so much younger than other UFAs who get signed to big contracts is what's really going to drive the price up. Evander Kane got 7×7 at age 27. Tavares got 11 million at age 28. Panarin will be offered a ton of money because of his low age. And he's on pace to light it up even more this season. I'd say 10 million is what most teams with cap room would offer. 11 million is what desperate teams would offer. And I just don't think he's the kind of guy to take significantly less than market value...
