A player's worth is subjective to different teams. Do you think Duchene was worth what he was traded for? Or Karlsson...or Hall?

Sakic won that trade from patience and dorion being a dumb GM and nashivlle not needing Girard. Than dorion was dumb again for his karlsson deal and Chia....well enough said. Shero has been one of the smartest and cunning GMs in the NHL trade wise. So MB gives shero that trade offer for drouin and shero would literally laugh in his face and hang up. In no world is drouin worth a still young and developing C who's a first round pick, the currently best CHL dman, and this year's first for a good winger. Not even close

It doesn't matter. You know what you're getting with Drouin. Smith can put up the numbers in jrs but we haven't seen him play in the pros, McLeod never put up eye popping numbers in Jrs but you're using his 1st rnd pick status as leverage. He hasn't done anything in the pros.

I'm not saying they're garbage, but if Smith and McLeod were e.g. NSH's or WSH's assets, and they had the cap room to acquire Drouin, they'd do the trade. A cup contender values prospects differently than a playoff contender.

It certainly does matter. St Louis is a cup contender and they didn't give up a single bluechip prospect or even a first for ROR who's easily the most underrated player in the NHL. And a better all around player than drouin. It's called smart GMing. So again, no drouin is not worth what's essentially three first round picks no matter the circumstance, regardless of mcleods production, he's still a young cost controlled center.

Ya he's also 4 yrs older and bigger caphit. The main reason why Armstrong didn't get totally fleeced was cause he agreed to pay ROR's super bonus. Which it is a smart move if you got deep pockets. Tage Thompson IS a bluechip prospect. And ROR is not the most underrated player, Backstrom is.

STL only got "cup contender" status after their summer acquisitions. They haven't been in serious cup convos in years.

Do you think Tatar was worth a 1st, 2nd, 3rd that McPhee gave up? Do you think Hanzal was worth a 1st and a 2nd that MIN dished out as a playoff rental?

These trades happen all the time bro. I understand that you don't like my proposition, but there's always gonna be a winner and a loser, wether it's long term results or short term. And it's always gonna be about supply and demand.

BTW I was originally trolling you, I knew you'd never add Smith in the package. NJ aren't cup contenders yet, you need Smith
