You'd be okay with having Schultz, making $5.5M, playing bottom pairing minutes? And having Pettersson as a #7? Good player, but I'm not sure if Pietrangelo is the right addition for the Pens. Schenn would be dope, but a lot to give up.

If Pens were to add a big defenseman, I'd maybe go for a top 4 LHD guy. Letang with Dumo, the new guy with Schultz and then bottom pairing between JJ, Pettersson and Oleksiak, assuming Maatta is used in this deal.

You could always have Pettersson in over Oleskiak as the 6th D with Schultz. Not always a bad thing to have a lot of depth at the D position. Or if you really wanted to, you could flip Oleskiak to a team for a solid depth scoring LW to play on the 4th line with Cullen and ZAR instead of Blueger
