Why do you still have Sekera on LTIR for next season when he's already back to skating with the team? He's going to be playing no later than March.

I highly doubt Perron is going to want to return to Edmonton: his issue was with management during his tenure here, and those names are still employed by this franchise. Nevermind that you're giving up picks the Oilers would be better off using to stock their relatively barren prospect pool. If Edmonton's "big" roster change for next season is to take a bet on Mrazek instead of a guy like Lehner, or continue to try a combination of Zykov, Caggiula, or other bottom-6/replacement level NHL-ers in its top-6, this team will flounder out of the gate and it'll be another missed year for the McDavid Oilers. Substantial changes are needed, which goes on to further suggest that the majority of today's roster should not be here next season.

Until this team has legitimate top-6 wingers - and odds are they'll need to be homegrown - there is zero sense in trying Draisaitl as a center: all it does is continue to bag on him about "not being able to drive a line".

There is no quick fix to the Oilers: unless other teams are suddenly willing to lose a series of trades, Edmonton has to try this again from the ground up. They do not have the assets or cap space to try and be legitimate contenders over the next 2-3 years, and it's a highly unfortunate reality.
