I applaud the effort . This shows what the players will have to sign for in order to keep them all together.

However, This is Gardiner's chance to chase the money - some other team will offer 6+ per year. I don't think Matthews or Marner will sign that low. Matthews 11 mil same as Tavares. Marner between 8.5 and 9.5. Leafs won't be able to keep Gardiner. The leafs will be able to address the defense in 2020-21 with Marleau's money off the table.

Also moving Horton's contract really has no effect (re: long term injury relief) as long as the leafs do no negotiate any further 2019-21 performance bonuses.

I offered Matthews and Marner for a 1 year contract. So that when Marleau contract end they can renegotiate a better contract(Matthews Gets 13M$ 8 years and Marner 11M$ for 8 years

I doubt they will except a 1 year contract. They won't want to risk major injury for just one year.

Leafs can pickup Manning or Rutta from the Hawks as the hawks are shopping both players. Rutta is a UFA at season end and will cost $1.5M to sign. Manning on the left is signed through this year and next at $2.25m. They aren't the best defensive players but both are serviceable as 3rd liners. Rutta is probably worth a 4th and Manning worth a 5th.
