we have taken a step back this year. I personally think its due to personal. Not signing any UFAs or making any trades this off-season, while others have, has clearly put a much larger gap in overall talent between the NJD and other NHL teams.

We should have made a strong push for O'Reilly. He's tenacious and was forgotten about during his time in Buffalo. Yet again, hes always top 3 in faceoff % in the league. He would have addressed a major hole for us, that being a top 6 forward AND a need for a true #1 centreman until Hischier fully develops.
