Seriously?

Ya maybe they should keep their first round. Who knows they might get both of the Hughes brothers.

Looking at Winnipeg's cap issues moving forward, I wonder if there is a possibility of using that 2019 First Rounder (Especially if it is #2-#5 overall) to get Laine. Perhaps a package that includes that pick and Stetcher or Tanev. This would obviously be done at the draft as from what i understand you dont give up on the possibility of Hughes and WPG doesnt make this trade until after the play-offs.

From WPG's perspective:
* They are going to have problems signing Laine, Conners and Myers, or a suitable replacement RHD.
* This proposal gives them a genuine game breaker talent pick which could step into their line-up in 2019/2020 on an ELC.
* A cost effective RHD replacement for Myers who is already under contract and who would be a great 3D on that back-end.
* The ability to keep Connors.

From Vancouver's perspective:
* Aquaman gets to make a SPLASH at the draft held in Vancouver, and they get better quicker than if they have to wait for a player to develop. Again, this is a win for Aquaman.
* Laine is the age bracket that Vancouver wants, and they have the cap-space to make it work.

These are the sorts of trades that we see in the NFL/NBA all the time, and I wonder now with the Salary Cap being around for a while in the NHL if we will start to see more of them here too!
