Better to trade Yak and RNH separately.

I'm a fan of neither team so I'm hoping a 3rd party can help negate bias. I think the Oilers should want this trade more than the Wild. I'm not convince the Wild want all the extra pieces that have to come with RNH. Spurgeon is a solid D man which is a terribly weak position for EDM. Vanek's contract disappears next year which is another HUGE plus for signing Leon for the long term. You lose Fayne's contract which is another big plus. Yak...well...to put it nicely...A change in scenery will be a benefit for both him and the team.

As a Wild fan - I'd take this deal. I want nothing to do with Yakapov, but if the Oilers were willing to take Vanek and Pominville, I would put up with a one year experiment with Yak. Who knows, maybe there's a hockey player who gives a crap there somewhere... Fayne? Not a big fan...but again...simply taking on V and P's contracts deserves some compensation and taking Fayne's contract back would be fine. In the long-run, this is basically a Spurgeon for RNH deal...and I can live with that.

P.S. You Oiler fans sure do like your expensive 4th lines!

P.S. II I'm not sure RNH qualifies as a bonafide top line center, but he is better than anything the Wild has ever had.
